No sewing, but knitting

I haven't been sewing, but knitting for my Grandaughter. She is almost 11 and she wants the look to be like the other kids. So she picked out the sweater. The idea is she wanting things to look like her friends, but not. She likes the colors. She has a couple purchased shrugs and she wanted something different. I think I am going to sew on this button with a loop. They suggested a rhinestone pin, but she is just a little girl yet.

The pattern was a free pattern off of the internet. I had the yarn on hand and decided why not use some of it up. She is coming this weekend so hope she likes it. Off to the sewing room to get some cleaning and stitching done. Chris

Can't even get to the sewing machine.

We woke up to about 4 inches of heavy wet snow. Glad I have a tractor to get it off the drive. Sad part is where to put it. We have still got snow on the ground and will for quite a while. Yesterday I got the scraps out and started cutting them to a manageble size. I cut pieces for applique, for 2 1/2 in squares and 1 3/4 in squares. I have containers full and more scraps to go through. My Mom said get rid of it all. Hey I paid for it and why not use it. So today I need to do some more cutting then after I get through the next batch I can clean more in the sewing room. How does a person let things go for so long??? LOL. I blame myself because I just didn't get in there and put things away. Now I have showed it to you all. It is worse than what you can imagine. Chris

Where has time gone?

Seems like a long time since I posted. My husband is now home and doing fair. We have a long road of recovery at this time to undertake. I have lost interest for now in sewing or knitting. I think the weather hads a lot to do with it. Today we are having company and I need to get to the store and buy some totes. I have had this desire to get the cleaning done in the sewing room, but haven't started it. This next week I have to get it done to feel like I have done something for me. Funny how we take the time for others but not ourselves. I am so embarrased by the mess I won't even take pictures. So until them take care. Chris
