Was going to go take pictures

Today was my day to go out and take some more pictures of stuff in bloom. It is so gray and dark out, but they say we aren't going to get any weather. Oh life in the Midwest. Sunny one minute and gloomy the next. Frost advisory for This weekend. I want to have warmer weather. At least it isn't snow like Oregon is getting. The weather with all the flooding and the volcanoes and earthquakes are devastating compared to my gray day. My heart goes out to all the victims of these disasters. Good day to turn on the lights and get some hand sewing ready to take tomorrow. I have a purse idea with used denim for the body of it and some flowers added to update the look. Will show you more after I get the prototype made. Chris

No sewing but yard work and painting

We have been trying to dig and separate and also get rid of weeds. This is a major job every years for me.

This is my garden shed. I painted the front of it and today did the two high sides. The wires are gone now to. They were to a satellite dish and we took it down. The plants I already planted in the flower box have died out so I will get something and get it planted for summer.
This is the North side of the shed. See the board at the base of the shed. We had to take plants out and place the 4X4 there. The rabbits were getting under the shed and having mega amounts of babies.

This is another birdhouse my Husband made several years ago. The base of it was rotting off so he made another one and I thought I would just set it in the flower bed for some color on that side. The Blue flower is the perennial Bachelor
Buttons. They reseed themselves and spred, but come up everyyear from the same plant.

A friend brought some yellow Asiatic Lillies for me today. I got them planted. We will see if they bloom this year.
Sometimes moving them this time of year compromises the blooms.
Sewing will have to come in the next couple days after he has his procedure done. Chris

Grandpa and Brody

Grandpa and his grandson. Brody will be 4 in July. Brody likes to tease and be teased just like Grandpa. Today we went to the Dr. and Grandpa has to go to the hospital for an out patient procedure on Thursday morning. We will probably only be there a couple hours and then some recovery time afterwards. Brody lives in Rockford Illinois and we see them about once a month.

He is at the age that a kiss he tries to wipe off and I tell him he is rubbing them in. He has a low deep laugh and he thinks Grandma is funny. Grandpa has to be a round to watch this one grow up. He is a laugh a minute. I will have to get some hand work to take with me while I wait for Jeff at the hospital. Chris

Attitude!!!!!!!

The last few days mine hasn't been very good. So many things I want to do and everyone else has needs also. I watched a program on an NBC network station about getting your priorities and attitudes in order. One of the first things to do to have a better outlook on life one step at a time was to get out of bed and make it. You instantly feel better about yourself and your day ahead of you. Today being the first Monday of the month of May I am going to try and have a better outlook and attitude on my life. If your day begins well it will end well. After you make your bed sit an listen to the birds chirp and the sun come up. Chris

More rain

I know Spring rains bring Spring flowers, but I need to get the garden planted. I now have three rooms in an uproar and need to get some of it finished. Worked on it yesterday and my husband whom shouldn't have been on the lawnmower went out to mow. So had to drop what I was doing and go finish. He has to go back to the Dr. tomorrow and have a small procedure done and I know he will slow down after that. He had surgery in January and he has been doing to much. Good that he feels better, but not good that we have to have some repair done now. The sun is out, but it is so wet outside. It rained overnight. I want to sew and I want the mess all put away. It is better after yesterday, but more needs to be done. Have a Great Sunday. Chris

I did a lot of work yesterday

I got all the furniture moved out of the computer room and into the bedroom and then all the sewing stuff is piled in the sewing room. That will be another day. This is a rug that was given to us by a friend. She bought it and it was to large for her room, but she used it and didn't return it. So she gave it to me. I love chickens to decorate with and I had it in the computer room for quite awhile. I think the colors go well with the wallpaper so I will use it there for awhile.

This is why the change was made. We stored this bed in the shed for over a year. A neighbor had it and was going to get rid of it. It is an antique hospital bed from the hospital in the town I grew up in. Jeff painted it and made the platform deck for it. We brought it in and set it up in the room and I am going to get the mattress and the bedding on it today. I have a soft yellow fabric with blue pansies on it and I will get curtains made for the window. I am making a 30's print applique quilt and need to get it finished to use on the bed. Now if someone comes to stay we have an extra room for them. I flopped in the chair last night and didn't even want to make supper but did. Today the sewing room and I are going to get intimate and get it straightened out. Crank up the oldies music and start in for the day. We had a 1/2 inch of rain so no digging outside for awhile today, to muddy. I guess I can look at it this way two rooms spring cleaned all in one day. Chris
