OOOOPPPPPS! I didn't turn the upper left flower the right way for the picture. Here is the green fabric I have. It is a 30's solid green. Kinda mint kinda sage in color. It looks appealing. Here is a piece of solid black. It is appealing also. But I would have to go out and buy enough to do the quilt. I think I will applique the flowers to the squares of the fabric I choose. All that little piecing would really make me crazy. It is bad enough I am where I am at with the head thing anyway.

I think you kind of loose the flowers on the black. The darkest green and dark centers are too much the same value as the black. The green gives you a diffenent value so the flowers each stand out with their own personality.
Your blocks look great - look forward to seeing what background you choose. :)
Both are nice, but I tend to lean toward the green - but you're right, once you get more flowers, it may make a difference....
my 2 cents worth...the green shows the flowers better.
if it were just the flowers and no leaves the black would be awesome to make them stand out but the leaves get lost against the black.
