Those were the days

Have you ever used a treadle? I have. The amount of sewing that many women did on these wonders of the time is amazing.

I got out my cheapy Singer today and remade these drapes into Cafe' curtains for my sewing room. They are heavier like Bark Cloth and lined besides. Makes a World of difference in the room. Still cleaning and sorting and pitching.  Progress is happening, but it didn't get this way over night so it won't get better over night either.

Found these, There were 25 of them and it was a tub of scraps I cut up and made blocks. These need another round of piece work on this stack.

I think there are 22 or 23 finished here. I need to locate some fabric for backing and borders. I have I think close to 20 tops in stages of being worked on. Shame I haven't finished them. Going to be a long Winter so maybe I can get motivated to get some of these completed.

The sewing room still has some rough spots, but I think by next week it will be closer to satisfying my goals. I have had 5 hard years of stress and I made up my mind I wasn't going to waste anymore time dwelling on it. Life is to short and my stewing over what should have been is foolish. Hope you all have a great day. Chris

Look at you being very very productive! Great job, the curtains are lovely! :) I really love those star blocks, they are going to make a very nice scrappy quilt. :)
